DENISE GREEN
Previous Works

DENISE GREEN was born in Melbourne in 1946 and moved to New York in 1969. She has maintained close ties with Australia and has regularly exhibited here as well as in the USA, Germany, Belguim, Holland and Hungary, Denmark, Austria, India and Japan.

Her work also hangs worldwide in institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim in NYC, The Concorn Gallery and National Gallery in Washington, all Australian state galleries and the National Gallery, as well as numerous public, corporate and private collections. Retrospectives include PSI/MOMA in NYC, the Art Gallery of NSW, Ludwig Museum Budapest and Saalad Museum Saarbucken Germany.
Her bibliography runs to several pages of tiny print since 1973.

Denise Green's newest book and writings "METONYNY in Contemporary Art - A New Paradigm" is published by Macmillan and will be launched by senior curator Tony Bond at the Art Gallery of NSW on July 13 from 6-8pm. It will be preceded by a lecture in the theatre from Green beginning at 5.15pm where she will discuss the book and give us the opportunity to grasp the breadth and passion in her painting and writing.
